Fred A. Stutman, MD  


Fred A. Stutman, M.D., has done extensive research in the fields of exercise physiology, diet, and nutrition at the U.S. Naval Air Development Center and in his private medical practice. As a medical officer in the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Stutman established one of the first walking programs for cardiac rehabilitation patients. Following the publication of The Doctorís Walking Book, he became known as ďDr. Walk.Ē

Dr. Stutman is the author of eleven books and numerous medical articles on diet, nutrition, and exercise. His books have been featured in Prevention, Shape, Readerís Digest, Self, Family Circle, Star, Letís Live, Working Woman, Ladies Home Journal, Cosmopolitan, Ms. Fitness, The National Enquirer, New York Times, USA Today and many other publications. Dr. Stutman has also appeared on national radio and TV, including The Today Show and Good Morning America.

Dr. Stutman is currently practicing Family Medicine as part of the Temple University Health System in Philadelphia. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice and a recipient of the American Medical Associationís Physicianís Recognition Award.
