Gale Gand  


Gale Gand, executive pastry chef and partner of four-star Mobil, five-diamond AAA, Relais & Chateaux Relais-Gourmand restaurant Tru in Chicago, was named pastry chef of the year by The James Beard Foundation in 2001. Host of the Food Network’s “Sweet Dreams,” Gand has her own Root Beer company and is also an accomplished author with five titles to her credit, including “Gale Gand’s Just a Bite,” “Gale Gand’s Short + Sweet” and most recently “Tru: A Cookbook from the Legendary Chicago Restaurant.” Gale’s next cookbook “Chocolate and Vanilla” will be published in autumn 2006 when she opens her new coffee bar, “Pastry Concept”. She has a son named Gio and recently had twins, Ella Nora and Ruby Grace.
