Fran Sorin

Fran Sorin, recognized as one of America’s leading gardening experts, is changing how people perceive gardening. Her multi-media exposure reflects her philosophy that, similar to exercising and following a wholesome diet, gardening is a necessity for living a healthier life.

The paperback version of Fran’s highly acclaimed book “Digging Deep: Unearthing Your Creative Roots Through Gardening”, published by Warner Books, came out in early Spring 2006.

As the “GardenSmart’ columnist for USA Weekend magazine, Fran’s advice reaches 51.5 million readers across the country. She is a contributor to CBS Radio News where her garden features are heard several times a week on CBS stations throughout the country. Fran is the gardening expert for a newly released Scripps Show on the DIY Network ‘Home Made Easy’ and for Comcast’s ‘Your Morning. She has been a contributor to NBC’s Today Show (Weekend Edition) and made appearances on Live with Regis and Kelly, CNN, HGTV, Discovery and NBC10.

Fran’s garden design firm, Fran Sorin Garden Designs, LLC is a reflection of her belief in the transformative power of gardening. Her designs are bold in color and scale with an emphasis on firm garden ‘bones’ and make strong visual connections between the interior and exterior of homes. Fran designs gardens throughout the East Coast of the United States. Her own garden is the laboratory where she experiments, imagines, plays, learns and continues to work in the soil.

Fran’s website, www.fransorin.com offers a wealth of gardening information that includes everything from daily tips and “how tos” to a monthly Newsletter and design ideas. She was instrumental in creating the Gardening Channel on iVillage.com, one of the largest web sites devoted to women and consequently became their gardening expert.
